When placing a good into storage, the warehouse keeper certifies the takeover
of the goods for storage
A warehouse receipt is a document that confirms the existence and location of goods in a warehouse. It serves as proof of ownership and storage of goods and can be used as a receipt or to track the movement of goods when needed.
A typical warehouse receipt contains information such as:
- Storage location: The warehouse receipt indicates the exact location in the warehouse where the goods are stored. This can be a shelf number, an aisle, or a specific storage area.
- Description of the goods: The warehouse warrant contains a detailed description of the goods that are stored. This may include the product name, quantity, size, weight, or other relevant information necessary to identify the merchandise.
- Warehouse keeper: The warehouse receipt indicates who owns the goods or is responsible for their storage. This can be the name of a company, an individual or an organization.
- Date: The warehouse receipt contains the date on which the goods were brought into the warehouse or on which the warehouse receipt was issued. This enables tracking of warehouse activities over time.
