The WVB is often referred to as a &ldquo;certificate of origin&rdquo;. It is used to allow preferential treatment of goods under trade agreements or tariff preference programs.<\/p>\n<p>The WVB is issued by the exporter or manufacturer of a good and certifies that the good complies with the established rules of origin. These rules of origin vary depending on the provisions of the trade agreement or preference program in question. For example, they may stipulate that a certain amount of production or processing must take place in a particular country in order for the product to be considered originating in that country.<\/p>\n<p>The WVB contains information such as the exporter&rsquo;s name and address, a detailed description of the goods, the HS code (Harmonized System Code), proof of origin and other relevant information. It must be duly completed and signed by the exporter or manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>The WVB is normally required by the customs authorities of the importing country to verify the claimed tariff preferences.
